Who is speaking into your life? Part II

Rom 8:6 For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace.
We must be watchful concerning mixed words, that is, when people use scripture out of context to condemn (its subtle).  That’s why it is important to know what God says about you and what he has purpose for you. Let me say, God loves you with an everlasting love.  God is love and He wants the best for you. Give God the Glory for what He is doing in your life.  God will connect you with people who been where you are going. God will direct you to others who can nurture, encourage, and walk beside you to do what He has called you to accomplish in his name.

I’ve been speaking about who is speaking into your life.  I wanted to continue speaking about those who speak death or life; I want to focus on those who speak condescendingly towards you.  Most of the time when we feel condemned, it’s because we may have picked up someone negatively towards us, or words were spoken over us.

This is the time to go before God to get a strategic plan to fight the enemy coming against your purpose.  Previously, I discussed over how to distinguish between words of death or life.  We must choose life.  A way to measure whether someone is speaking death or life, is to inspect the fruit.  What is it producing in your life? Is it depression, hopelessness, doubt, defeat, or inadequacy? or confidence, strength, victory and faith?

Often times, when someone is judgmental it is because of their own selfish interests.  They become bitter and spew out what’s in them. Therefore, making you feel inadequate.  It doesn’t matter who is making you feel this way, do not tolerate it.  Do not believe the lies of the enemy. It could be your goldfish, your dog, a friend, family, or church leaders, etc.  You have to know that God did not make junk and if he has called you, he expects you to make preparation and to accomplish it.

Who are you allowing to speak into your life?

Often times, there are situations we go through and we share with people who may not have our best interest. Although, they say they do. How can you judge what is being spoken into your life?  Well, I want to point out a few things… You will know a tree by the fruit it bears…but lets say that you eating the fruit (advice, opinion, directions or words spoken) and it’s producing negative results in your life. Well, you may want to examine what seed you allowed to be planted in your life. Mat 12:33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.

We must examine the seeds the enemy tries to plant in our lives.  This may be challenging if you do not have discernment.  So how can you tell if what is spoken over your life is from God, man or the enemy?  Is the fruit Good or bad? How do you know, if it God’s Word to you or empty words directed at you to stop you?  Firstly, you must know how God speaks by reading his Word. Then you can recognize His voice or whether it is the voice of another. (man, flesh, or the devil).  The enemy Job is to get you off track.  We must continue to run the race in the lane God has placed us. Heb 12:1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us.

Is what is spoken over your life stealing your peace or bringing condemnation or confusion? Well, read the scripture below.

James 3:10 -18 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Words have power Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use  will eat its fruit.  You must make sure you are not speaking negatively over your own life or the life of others.

Pro 15:4  Speech that heals is like a life-giving tree, but a perverse tongue breaks the spirit.  Are you operating by a perverse tongue? How about those who are speaking into your life?  Who are you allowing to break your spirit?
.
You must determine if what is being spoken over your is death or life.  Watch who you allow to speak over your life. Also, watch what you speak over the lives of others as well as yourself.  What is being spoken over your life? Is it negative? Telling you what you can’t do, can’t be, can’t accomplish, others can do what you are attempting to do; because they are the exception (Obama would have never become President of the United States if he believed this one), will never be, its not in you to do, or you don’t have faith. etc. etc. If so, That’s death… I am really trying to help you to distinguish between death spoken words, and life.  The bible tells us to chose life.

Now, if you are encouraged to work on weakness, focus on your strengths, you can do it, believe in yourself (of course it’s God doing it through you), keep going, to persevere, God is no respecter of persons, read about how others overcame in that area, God loves you, or all things are possible.  Now, that’s life.

There is a difference between the two and you need to recognize it quickly.  Why? so that you can detox yourself quickly from the poisonous seeds that have been planted.  The bad seeds must be cut off at the root.  Do not allow it to grown into a full blown tree. Maybe, you had poisonous seeds sowned in your garden for years. Well, it is not too late to lay the axe to the root and cut it down.  Remember,  Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.   I have been to several churches where the Leader  will have the congregation read affirmations during the services… such as I can do all things through Christ etc.etc.  Some of you may have participated, but what I find to be hypocrisy is the leader speaking negatively over the members.  This is ridiculous and God is not in it.

No longer a prisoner …

February 15, 2010

Please share with someone who is incarcerated or living the street life.

Dear________,

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you and increase you as you reach out to God, He is waiting for you. God has always been there for you but you did not see him. He wanted to spend time with you but you were to busy, doing other things such as hanging with wayward friends and running the streets. He wants you to know that He is still there for you. Lean not to your own understanding and be angry no more. God will be with you, if you draw near to him.

God will make all those crooked places in your life straight, and all those dry places in your life flow, as the rivers of running water. He wants to give you a plan, but you have to be willing to put him first. He must be first before everyone, your homeboys, women in the street, and what ever else is taking your time.  God will show you how to make the right decisions, its in His Word. God made you and he made you for a purpose, not to sit inside a prison cell.  You have the victory, even though it may not look like it, but it is not by sight but by faith.  As you speak to God and ask him to help you, you will see that things will open up for you and things will work.  You will begin to know that God is with you. Do not go back to the old ways, old friends and old things.

Hold your head up and walk with God. He will help you with work.  You must trust him.  So you say, how can I work when no one will give me a job?  I say create your work, ask God for creative ideas to create a business.  There have been plenty of people who have created their own opportunity.  You must take back your time from those who compete for it. Do you feel like hanging out? Well, spend time with Jesus and let all those negative people go.  You will find that it is those sweet moments, talking, walking, laughing, and hanging with God which strengthens you. In the perfect timing you will walk in your season of blessings. You will have creative ideas about business, and he will work it out for you, giving you a new start on life. Do not be fearful about your future just trust God.  He parted a sea so that a nation could have passage. (psalm 136:13) Will he not make a way for you?

Do not let the things of the past creep back into your life. You must look to God to share those things you can not tell anyone, those things that hurt, and make you angry.  Release it, and let it go.   You must walk into all that God desires you to have. It’s a new beginning for you,  know that God. He gave his only begotten Son to die on the cross for you. You are now stronger than you think. You made it… Yes you made it. You do not have to let anything or anyone hold you captive. You are free, free to dream, free to plan, free to get up, hold your head up high… Yes you are changing into the Man that God made you to be.

When you look in the mirror you will began to see yourself differently. The past is behind you, do not look back. It’s  your time to walk into your new season. Keep your word to God and tell him you love him, tell him you want to know him.  He is waiting for you. Go ahead tell him how special He is to you, and that you will trust him to help you everyday. Let Him know you are willing to give up the past, and place it in his hands in exchange for your future.

Tell him you love him…..whisper it again tell him that you love him, tell him that He is your Heavenly Father. It is ok to release those tears and let it all go. You see, it is alright to release your pain through your tears, release your hurts through your tears and let the joy take over… Now you can tell everyone that you are ok, that God has your back, He will take care of you and never leave you. He is your source, He is your friend, He is your keeper, He is your peace….He will make a way for you just stay close to him and know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper because your Heavenly Father is there with you … The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and (put your name here).

Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus I lift up ________ ,to you and thank you for making him to be the man, you are calling him to be. Thank you for protecting_________ and leading, him in the way that he should go. I speak peace to him. I speak forth joy to him, and cast out the spirit of depression and sorrow. I thank you that you will open doors for him, like never before as he puts you first, and seek your face. I thank you that he has a hunger for your Word, and that you will reveal yourself to him. I thank you for planting him with Godly men, who would be good examples for him. I thank you for work opportunities and business ideas, upon his release from prison. I thank you for providing for his needs and increasing him day by day. I thank you that he is a new man and that he trust in you. I thank you for keeping evil far from him and what you are about to do in his life. In Jesus Name. I plead the Blood of Jesus, over every situation in his life, thanking you that he is no longer held captive. I give you thanks for he is free indeed. In Jesus Name. Amen.

I have a dream…

February 15, 2010

I’ve been thinking about something lately.  Have you every had something on your heart that was so important to you and you was excited or may have felt overwhelmed about whether you could do it? Do you have a dream?

Have you ever tried to share something that was important to you? Maybe you are at the infancy stage of putting it together.  I am reminded of a bible character named Joseph,  the Bible tells us that Joseph dreamed a dream.  In the book of Genesis 37: 5 “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.” They wanted to kill the dreamer  acknowledging that his dreams would die with in.  Wow, these were his brothers…we can learn an important lesson here.

The lesson is although you may want to share your dreams, your dreams must be treated as a new-born baby.  A new-born baby? Yes.  I learned that you do not take a new-born baby everywhere in public. You must keep the baby sheltered, until the baby is  old enough, to withstand the harsh elements.  Why? You do not want the baby to get contaminated with germs from outsiders that the baby is unable to withstand.  You should keep the baby doctor appointments of course, (its in the baby’s best interest). This is also the way we should handle our dreams, realizing that we can’t share them with everyone in the development stage. We can’t allow outsiders to breathe upon our dreams.  After all, its your dream.  In the infancy stage we must feed and nurture, the dreams that God has given us.

I read an article sometime ago that breast-fed babies are better immune and receive more nutrition than non breast-fed babies.  I have a question for you. Would you allow someone else to breast feed your baby? If it sounds repulsive, then why allow someone else to dictate the direction of your dreams, ideas, or goals in its infancy stage?  It’s your dream, is it not?

Do you remember the sound of excitement when you tried to share your dreams, with someone you thought was going to be excited for you? Perhaps, offering encouraging words to you. Instead, you may have felt like an assassination team was assigned to your dream.  I have a question for you.  Listen intensely.  please come a little closer.  Where is your baby? (the dreams you were so excited about?)

Did you write the dream down? Did you make the vision plain? If not, pick up the pen again and transcribe it.   Let me encourage you to go back and pick it up again.  Maybe it was a dream to continue your education, start a business, apply for a new job position  or own your home one day.  Maybe it is something that God spoke in your ear.  It’s not to late to revive and speak life to it, feed and nurture that God-given dream. Listen attentively. It’s not too late. When it’s the right time, speak forth what you see. I am reminded of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr who had a dream. Some did not believe in his dream.  It did not stop him from proclaiming it.  No, I have a dream… that shall be realized.  I will proclaim it on the mountain top.  “I have a dream…”
